Yes, It's a Banana Lamp. No, You Won't Regret It.

Most lamps are designed to disappear. You buy one, plug it in, and within a week nobody notices it, including you.

The Banana Lamp does not disappear.

It's a sculpted banana with the peel pulled halfway back and a glowing bulb where the fruit should be. Set it on a sideboard and people will wander over to it before they finish taking their coats off. That's more or less the point. A room needs one thing that makes people smile, and this lamp is happy to be that thing.

The Art Deco connection

The name says Art Deco, and you might reasonably ask what a banana has to do with the Jazz Age.

The answer is quite a lot. In 1926, Josephine Baker walked onto the stage of the Folies Bergère in Paris wearing a skirt made of bananas, and it became one of the defining images of the era. Art Deco was never only about geometric mirrors and skyscraper lobbies. It had a sense of humor and a love of spectacle, and it liked its glamour with a wink.

That's where this lamp lives. The gold finish and smooth, sculptural shape bring the polish. The banana brings the wink.

Pick your banana

The lamp comes in three poses, and each one suits a different spot.

Upright stands tall at about 30 cm (11.8 in). It has the most presence of the three and looks great on a console table, an entryway shelf, or anywhere it can be seen from across the room.

Sitting measures roughly 20 × 30 × 21 cm (7.9 × 11.8 × 8.3 in). It has a relaxed, leaning-back posture that works nicely on a bookshelf or at the corner of a desk.

Lounging stretches out to about 33 cm (13 in) long and sits low. It's the natural choice for a nightstand or coffee table, where you want the glow without anything blocking your view.

Plenty of people buy two and pair them. An upright and a lounging banana on either end of a mantel is a very good look.

Gold or yellow?

This comes down to the room.

Gold is the grown-up option. It reads like a small trophy and sits comfortably next to brass hardware, walnut furniture, velvet, and dark painted walls. If your style leans moody or classic, go gold.

Yellow is the full pop-art banana. It's bright, cheerful, and made for white or gray rooms that need a jolt of color. It also happens to be a fantastic kids' room lamp and a great kitchen accent.

What it's good at (and what it isn't)

Let's be straight with you. This is an accent lamp. It gives off a warm, cozy glow that makes an evening feel slower and a room feel lived in. It is not a desk lamp for late-night spreadsheets, and it isn't dimmable. If you read in bed every night, keep a proper reading light on the other side and let the banana handle the mood.

What it does exceptionally well is set a tone. Turn it on when the overhead lights go off and the whole room shifts.

The practical details

The lamp body is made from resin and uses an LED bulb. It's rated for 90–260V, so it works in homes around the world. Orders are processed in 1–3 business days and typically arrive in 7–14 business days depending on where you are.

If it isn't right for your space, you have 60 days to return it. And if anything arrives damaged, we'll replace it at no cost.

What customers are saying

It's early days for this one, but every review so far has been five stars. Robin from Tulsa summed it up in a way we couldn't improve on: "Solid yet funky, fun, really cool."

The perfect gift for the hard-to-shop-for

Everyone has that one person who owns everything and claims not to want anything. They do not own a banana lamp. It's the kind of gift that gets unwrapped, gets a laugh, and then ends up in a place of honor instead of a closet.
